A Base ride from Kei Mouth. Stay in one of the many self contained houses, guest lodge, camp sites or hotels in and around Kei Mouth and Morgan Bay, and ride out daily from our paddocks in Kei Mouth. This Riding option is for riders who would like to ride along the beach and enjoy great cross country riding.

This option does not include any meals or accommodation You book your own accommodation and provide your own meals and refreshments. We only provide the guided horse rides

The itinerary is flexible and based on how many days riding is required. Riders need to be confident on horse back, and be able to ride at the trot and canter.

Example of different full day rides in and around Kei Mouth and Morgan Bay

Riders arrive in Kei Mouth/Morgan Bay and settle in, staying at one of the many accommodation establishments in the villages.

Ride 1

We meet at the paddocks at about 9.30 am. This morning we have a lovely ride along the beach front and through the sand dune forest to the Great Kei River, and then loop back to Morgan Bay in time for lunch.

During the afternoon we explore the Morgan Bay cliff Tops and canter the magnificent beach before heading back to the paddocks in the late afternoon.

Ride 2

We meet at the paddocks at about 9.30 am. A full day adventure across into the Transkei.  We take the horses on the pontoon to cross the Great Kei River and a have a fabulous day of beach and cross country riding.

Riders have an option to bring a picnic with them or we can stop at Seagull Beach Hotel for a great pub lunch and a cold drink! We get back to the paddocks in Kei Mouth in the late afternoon.

Ride 3

We meet at the paddocks at about 9.30 am. Today we take a picnic with us and head towards Black Rock. We ride through stunning country side with great opportunity for long trots and canters.  This is a private game and cattle farm, so there are good sightings of Zebra, Wildebeest, Impala, Blesbuck and other naturally occurring wild life.

Ride 4

We meet at the paddocks at about 9.30 am. Another adventure into the Transkei, this time taking a different route across country via a magnificent waterfall.   You can bring a picnic lunch or we can stop for a pub lunch at Seagulls.  Then its back home along the beach. We get back to the paddocks in Kei Mouth in the late afternoon
